Two More Records Fall for Women's Track at NYU Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Members of the Union College women's indoor track & field team reset two more school records and combined for nine season-best results at Saturday's non-scoring NYU D-III Invitational, hosted by New York University at the Armory.

Junior Annabel Dobash smashed another school record for Union in the 3,000 meters on Saturday, taking over 13 seconds off the previous program standard by crossing the line in 10:16.18, good for a second-place finish out of 23 runners. First-year Eilis McKenna also took over 10 seconds off her season-best time as well, qualifying for the Liberty League Championships with a 14th-place time of 10:55.38.

Junior Ashley Sheldon started off the day by running the 60-meter hurdles in 9.31 seconds, coming one place and five-hundredths of a second away from earning a spot in the finals. She was joined in the event by Pierre Louis, who set a new personal-best by finishing in 10.19 seconds to place 23rd.

Doran and Sheldon both had season-best efforts in the 200-meter dash as well, with Doran finishing 11th in 26.73 seconds and Sheldon coming in close behind in 26.77 seconds, which qualified her for the Liberty League Championships in the event.
