TULLY, N.Y. – The Union College women's golf team dropped a dual match to Ithaca College by the score of 330-346 on Saturday afternoon at Vesper Hills Country Club.
Junior
Iyene Essien was Union's top finisher on the day, which featured harsh winds and tough conditions. Essien carded an 81 on the par-72 course, one stroke back of Ithaca's Brianna Morrison and Annelise Stencel, who shared medalist honors. Essien started out one-under through five holes before two bogies and a double put her at 39 at the turn. She came in with a 42 to finish one stroke off the individual lead.
Sophomore
Emma Doherty finished in a tie for fourth place with a round of 82. After seven bogies in a front-nine 43, Doherty recorded a pair of birdies to counteract five bogies on the back nine, coming in with a team-best 39.
First-year
Casey Mack was done in largely by two tough holes on the back nine, finishing her round with a 90. Sophomore Claire Gilleta rounded out Union's scorers with a 93, followed by junior
Carinna Anastasio with a 97.

NaNa Simpson shot a 93 and junior
Ella Golas carded a 102 playing as individuals on the afternoon.
Union will be back on the course next weekend for the two-day Union Fall Invitational, held on Saturday and Sunday at Mohawk Golf Club.
