WAYNE, N.J. -- William Paterson defeated Union, 14-8 Wednesday in a non-league baseball contest at Wightman Park.

The Dutchmen fell to 2-7 overall while William Paterson improved to 5-4.

Trailing 2-1 after five innings, the Dutchmen scored three times in the top of the sixth for a 4-2 lead. But the hosts scored seven times in the bottom of the sixth en route to the victory.

Ben Brown (Brookline, NH/Bishop Guertin) had three hits and three RBIs for the Dutchmen, while Jeff Viamari (Longmeadow, MA/Tabor Academy) also had three hits for the Dutchmen. Zach Tillo (Lancaster, MA/Exeter) had two hits for the visitors. Kevin McCormick (Utica, NY/Utica) took the loss for the Dutchmen, in five innings of work with five earned runs.

Union returns to action Saturday to host RIT for the first home games of the season. The doubleheader begins at 1 p.m.
