SCHENECTADY, NY— The Union College women's tennis team fell to Rensselaer, 5-4, in dual match action Wednesday afternoon. Down 2-1 after doubles play, the Dutchwomen won in the top three spots, but dropped two costly super-tiebreakers to give Rensselaer the win. Kathleen Rucci (Schenectady, NY/ Guilderland) posted two wins for the Dutchwomen, defeating Lydia Lindhult (Belchertown, MA/ Belchertown) in straight sets at No. 2 singles, and teaming up with Kelly Fitzpatrick (Poughkeepsie, NY/ Arlington) to win at No. 2 doubles, 9-7. Both Union (1-5) and Rensselaer (3-1) are back in action at the Liberty League Championships at St. Lawrence University this weekend.
