Canton, NY -- St. Lawrence defeated the Union women's tennis team 9-0 Saturday. The Dutchwomen fell to 1-3 while the Saints finished their regular season play 15-2.
In doubles action, junior Kristen Lannon and senior Anne Moulin topped Jennie Werts (New York, NY/ Fieldston School) and Jessica Meola (Hartsdale, NY/ Ardsley), 8-3 at #1 doubles. Casey Gilman and Elizabeth Karam defeated Hallie Mabrey (Needham, MA/ Dana Hall) and Brittany Miller (Scituate, MA/ Scituate), 8-3, while senior captain Denise Kyte and sophomore Teresa Rodriguez won over Marla Feldman (Woodcliff Lake, NJ/ Pascack Hills High) and Sarah Stiles (Pittsford, NY/ Sutherland) 8-1.
In singles action, Lannon defeated Werts in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3. At two singles, Moulin topped Mabrey 6-3, 6-0, while Karam defeated Miller 6-3, 6-3. Rodriguez won 6-0, 6-1 over sophomore Kathleen Rucci (Schenectady, NY/ Guilderland), Gilman over Abby Cable (Weston, MA/ Buckingham Brown) 6-0, 6-0 and Sara Beinier finished over the match defeating Meola 6-2, 6-2.
