GENEVA, NY -- The third seed St. Lawrence squad defeated #6 Union, 7-2 in one of the first matches of the day at the 2008 Liberty League Women's Tennis Championships Saturday. The events are being hosted by William Smith College at the HWS Tennis Center.

 

The Saints improved to 13-3 and advanced to face #2 seed Vassar later in the day.

 

Union won a singles match at #4, as Jessica Meola (Hartsdale, NY) defeated Teresa Rodriguez by default. In doubles play, Kathleen Rucci (Schenectady, NY) and Roni Brumberger (Scarsdale, NY) were victors for the Dutchwomen. They won the #3 doubles over Liz Ronty and Rodriguez by a score of 9-7.
