SCHENECTADY, NY -- Williams College won both the men's and women's swimming & diving meets against Union Saturday at the Alumni Gym Pool. The Ephs won on the men's side, 171-125, and defeated the Dutchwomen, 188-107.
The Dutchmen won the 200 free relay, which was the first relay win for the Dutchmen against Williams in Head Coach
Scott Felix's career. The team of
Todd Herman,
Kevin Jung,
Chris Heske and
Steve Schapp took first with a time of 1:29.54. Schapp won two individual events, the 1000 free at 10:02.74 and the 500 free at 4:53.78.
Herman was the winner ofthe 50 free, touching at 22.79, and
Lucas Tiziani had a time of 1:59.42 to win the 200 fly. In the one meter dive, Union's
Ian Drillinger was the victor with a score of 255.67.
Kaleigh Ahern and
Mary Kate Baumann highlighted Union's women's team. Ahern won the 100 breast with a time of 1:11.03, just under two full seconds ahead of a Williams competitor. Baumann was first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.91, and the 200 free relay team of Ahern,
Amy Nestlerode,
Erica Fugger and
Priscilla Wright was first with a clocking of 1:43.11.
Union is also home for the next three meets. Next up will be a dual with Hartwick and Springfield at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alumni Gym Pool.
