SCHENECTADY, NY – With the majority of college sports completed, the Union College track and field teams continue their push with an appearance at the 2009 ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Springfield College on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15.

Senior #Jun Ho Ham#, who will be competing in the shot put and discus events, ranked second in the discus, has already hit that NCAA provisional mark and is looking to better his chances to make the national meet. He is also ninth in the shot put and hoping to hit the NCAA provisional mark of 15.45 meters -- his current best this season is 15.20 meters. Ham is the Liberty League and NYSCTC champion in both events.

#Kyle Bucklin#, who will compete in the long jump, is ranked 13th in this event going into the meet and is the current school record holder in the indoor and outdoor long jump. He is looking to hit the provisional qualifying mark for NCAA of 7.00 meters, his best this season being 6.91. Bucklin is also a member of 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams.

#Julie Laspina#, who will be competing in the shot put, is ranked 12th in this event and is its current school record hold. Her season best in this event is 12.21 meters, which is just shy of the 12.90 NCAA provisional mark.

#Phil Lambert# and #Davis Barber# will be running the open 200m and the 4x400m relay. Joining the duo is Bucklin and senior #Patricio Guaiquil#. They will have their sights on the 3:21.1 school record.

Lambert, Bucklin, Guaiquil will team with #Ryan Owen# in the 4x100 relay.
