SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Union College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will head to St. Lawrence University for the 2026 Liberty League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted at the Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex and Leckonby Stadium on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
On the women's side, junior
Ashley Sheldon looks for a sweep of the high jump after winning her third career (and second indoor) conference title in the high jump in February. She is the defending outdoor champion in the high jump as well and enters the weekend as the top seed thanks to her leap of 1.63 meters last weekend at the Capital District Classic. Sheldon also is a top-five seed in the 100-meter hurdles after running a school-record 14.80 seconds in mid-April.
In the sprints, junior
Kat Doran is seeded ninth in the 100-meter dash with a season-best time of 12.82 seconds at Ramapo in late March. Sophomore
Kyleigh Record and junior
Annabel Dobash pace the mid-distance group, as Record is the eighth seed in the 800 meters thanks to a 2:18.08 finish at Trinity and Dobash is seeded seventh in the 1500 meters after her season-best run of 4:48.56 at RPI.
For the men, sophomore
Liam Fitzgibbon is Union's highest-seeded runner after running the 800 meters in 1:53.68 at Trinity, good for the conference's fourth-best time. Senior
Jason Bois has been a consistent presence on the 110-meter hurdle podium over his four years and is seeded sixth this year following a time of 15.44 seconds at Rensselaer, while junior
Aaron Binion will represent Union in the sprints.
Union will be well represented in the throwing events as well. Senior
Mason Lang will lead four entries in the shot put with a top mark of 13.86 meters that ranks third-best in the conference this season, and he has the team's top hammer throw of the year as well with a mark of 44.96 meters. Fellow senior
Nick Entner also enters the weekend as a third seed in the javelin throw after a top toss of 50.15 meters at RPI, just ahead of Lang's fourth-seeded distance of 48.98 meters.
