GENEVA, NY - The Union women's tennis team fell in dual matches to William Smith and Rensselaer in the LIberty League Tennis Tournament on Saturday at the HWS Field House and Bristol Tennis Center at William Smith College. The Dutchwomen, seeded No. 6 in the tournament,  fell 9-0 to the host Herons before dropping a 6-3 dual match to the Engineers in the fifth place contest.

In the second match of the day against RPI, sophomore Elise Malkin picked up a win in the No. 1 singles spot, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Freshman Lauren Main also won her singles match with a 7-6, 6-2 victory in the No. 6 spot. The doubles team of Main and junior Elizabeth Lehmann won 8-6 to give Union its first point of the afternoon.

No. 1 Vassar will take on No. 2 Skidmore in the championship dual match, while No. 3 William Smith will face No. 4 St. Lawrence for third place, with both matches taking place tomorrow at the HWS Tennis Center.
