SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Union College Women's Tennis competed in its second game of the spring campaign and earned their first Liberty League victory of the season in an 8-1 victory over RIT from the Union Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Dutchomen improved to 6-3 on the season and 1-0 in Liberty League play.
Union swept the doubles competition with scores of 8-4, 8-0, and 8-2 decisions. The number one doubles squad of
Mina Hsia and
Natalia Pronchick defeated the RIT duo of Sara Bjork and Elizabeth McGrail 8-4.
Pronchick dropped the battle of the number ones in the first singles match but the Dutchwomen swept the other five matches and Hisa,
Margaret Oppenheim, Kathryn Collins,
Hayley Lough and
Samantha Muratori picked up victories.
Union continues its homestand with a Liberty League encounter against RPI on Monday (April 14) at 4 p.m.
