SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Union College women's tennis team closed the non-conference portion of its 2013-14 schedule with a 7-2 victory over visiting SUNY Oneonta at the Union Tennis Courts. The win was Union's first against Oneonta in 10 years.
The Dutchwomen (7-4) took five of six singles flights with the lone loss decided in a super tie-breaker.
Natalia Pronchick posted a 6-3, 7-5 win over Emily Maggiore at No. 1 singles while
Margaret Oppenheim (No. 3),
Hayley Lough (No. 5) and
Samantha Muratori (No. 6) all won in straight sets.
Kate Collins fought back from a set down at No. 4 singles to edge Jenna Conklin 2-6, 6-4, (10-2) in a super tie-breaker. Lough's victory provided the deciding point of the match.
Union won two of three doubles matches to stake a 2-1 lead it never relinguished.
The Garnet and White will play their last home match of the season next Wednesday (April 23), hosting Liberty League opponent Bard.
