SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Union encountered its toughest test of the young season on Saturday and sustained a 9-0 loss to four-time defending league champion Skidmore.  The Thoroughbreds did not drop a set in their season opener, as Union fell to 1-2 overall, 0-2 in Liberty League action.

With starter Kate Collins not available, Emily Newman moved up to No. 4 singles and took three games from Erica Meno.  Danielle Miller made her first collegiate appearance in singles while classmates Jessica Maung and Rachel McNeil teamed at No. 3 doubles in their first collegiate action.  

Don Dudley's squad returns to action Tuesday at Hamilton.
