Dutchwomen Drop Matches to Southeastern, Colorado Mesa

LAKELAND, Fla. – Union women's tennis team marked its second day of spring break action with a 9-0 loss to NAIA opponent Southeastern at the Edgewood Tennis Complex.

Fielding a split squad, Union saw two rookies made their collegiate singles debuts – Lena Diller at the No. 2 flight and Rachel McNeil at the No. 4 position.  Danielle Miller also made her first appearance at No. 1 singles after competing at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots earlier this season.

ORLANDO
 – The Dutchwomen completed a busy day on the courts with a 9-0 setback to Colorado Mesa in the first-ever meeting between the schools.


The Mavericks (7-5) won all nine matches in straight sets, with the closest battles taking place at the higher singles flights.  Mina Hsia took five games from Kristyn Wykert in a 6-2, 6-3 loss at No. 2 singles.  Natalia Pronchick (No. 1) and Hayley Lough (No. 4) also won four games against their opponents.

Abby Vickers broke into the singles lineup for the first time at the No. 6 slot.

Union (2-7) plays two more matches tomorrow, taking on Puerto Rico Mayaguez at 9:00 a.m. and Colby at 11:30 a.m. at Sanlando Park in Orlando.
