SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—The Union College women's tennis team was edged by RPI, 5-4, in a Liberty League match Friday evening at the Union Tennis Courts.
The Dutchwomen, who had their six match winning streak snapped, go to 9-6 overall and 2-4 in Liberty League play, while the Engineers move to 6-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Hayley Lough and
Paige Webster combined for an 8-6 win at No. 2 double for Union's first point of the day and Lenna Diller and
Julianne Loree made it 2-1, grinding out a 9-7 win over RPI's No. 3 Nisha Rajamohan and Mailani Neal.
Webster added her second victory of the day at No. 5 singles, beating Rajamohan in straight sets, 6-6-2 at No. 5. 4 and
Natalia Pronchick posted the Dutchwomen's fourth win of the day, beating Erica Frommer 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
The Engineers battled back, notching wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles before Emily Aaldenberg sealed the win with a 0-6. 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6.
Union closes out the season Sunday, May 1 at William Smith.
