EDGEWATER, N.J.—The Union College women's tennis team rolled to its third straight win with a 9-0 sweep of Stevens Tech on Sunday afternoon at the Binghamton Tennis Center in Edgewater, N.J.
The Dutchwomen move to 6-5 overall, while the Ducks go to 8-4.
Union claimed all three doubles matches , jumping out to a 3-0 lead.
Mina Hsia and
Natalia Pronchick posted an 8-2 win at number one, Haley Lough and
Paige Webster added an 8-2 win at number two and
Lena Diller and
Julianne Loree were 8-3 winners at number three.
Pronchick, the reigning Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week, added her second victory of the day, defeating Alex Connor 6-3, 6-0 at number one singles. Hsia tallied a 6-2, 6-0 win at number two and Webster, last week's Liberty League Rookie of the Week, contributed a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number three, clinching the match for the Dutchwomen. Loree also cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at number four, Diller picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at number five and
Eva Blech rallied for a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-7) win at number six.
Union hosts Oneonta at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 7.
