SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—The Liberty League announced its all-league accolades on Tuesday morning. Seven Dutchmen were named part of the All-League teams.
Union's
Jake Fishman was named both Pitcher of the Year and the Player of the Year for the first time in recent Liberty League history. Fishman was named to the All-League First Team as a pitcher and as a utility player. As a pitcher he boasts a .31 earned run average, as well as a 7-0 record, he has three shutouts in 58 innings pitched with 73 strike outs. As a batter, he boasts a .371 batting average with 29 runs, 46 hits, 11 doubles, 14 runs batted in, a .508 slugging percentage and a .451 on-base percentage. He also has a .986 fielding percentage.
Jamie Faber, who was named to the first team as a third baseman, he has a .359 batting average, with 12 runs, 28 hits, 15 rbi, .410 slugging percentage, and a .421 on-base percentage. He has a .951 fielding percentage.
Adam Ashenfarb was named to the All-League Second Team as a pitcher. He has a 2.60 ERA, with a 2-3 record. He has one shutout in 45 innings pitched and 34 strikeouts.
Also, named to the second team was outfielder
Kent Curran. Curran has a .376 batting average with 20 runs, 41 hits, 13 doubles and 22 rbi. He also leads the team in slugging percentage with .560 and has a .435 on-base percentage. The outfielder has a .966 fielding percentage.
Designated hitter,
Harrison Glatt was named to the Liberty League Second Team as well. He has a .340 batting average with 13 runs, 33 hits, and 16 rbi. He also has a .361 slugging percentage and a .402 on-base percentage.
Senior outfielder
Eric Egan was named as an honorable mention in this years' accolades. He has a .341 batting average with 30 runs, 44 hits, 29 rbi, 12 doubles, four homeruns and 13 stolen bases. He also has .527 slugging percentage and a .421 on-base percentage. Egan also has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
Jake Vesling was also put on the honorable mention team for his work as a shortstop. He has a .270 batting average with 23 runs, 31 hits, a .348 slugging percentage and a .349 on-base percentage. He also has a .919 fielding percentage.
The Dutchmen head to Auburn, N.Y., where they will take on Ramapo College in the first round of the NCAA Regionals on Wednesday, May 18 at 2:30 p.m., at Pickney Field at Falcon Park.
