SCHENECTADY, N.Y.--The Union College women's tennis team claimed the top two singles flights, but it was not enough as it fell to St. Lawrence, 7-2, Friday evening at the Union Tennis Courts. The Dutchwomen go to 7-8 overall and 2-3 in the Liberty League, while the Saints move to 10-8 overall and 5-2 in league play.
St. Lawrence carried a 3-0 lead into singles, dropping just five total games in doubles play. First-year
Natalia Pezzuco notched Union's first point, rallying for a three-set come-from-behind win at No. 1 singles, 0-6, 7-5, 10-3. Senior captain
Natalia Pezzuco added a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win at No. 2, but the Saints took No. 4 and No. 5 to clinch the match.
The Dutchwomen host William Smith at 11 a.m., Sunday, April 23 in their final regular season match of the season.
