SCHENECTADY, N.Y.--Union College women's tennis senior
Natalia Pronchick was a double winner in the final home match of her career, but the Dutchwomen fell short in a 6-3 Liberty League loss against William Smith, Sunday afternoon at the Union tennis courts.
Union goes to 7-9 overall and 2-4 in the Liberty League, while the Herons go to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Pronchick and sophomore
Alex Greenberg paired for an 8-3 win at No. 2 and
Natalia Pezzuco and
Paige Webster defeated William Smith's top pair 8-5, giving Union a 2-1 lead.
The Herons bounced back in singles play, winning five of six matches to earn the 6-3 victory. Pronchick battled to a three-set win at No. 2 for her second win of the day and Union's final point, registering a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 victory against Michaelann Denton.
The Dutchwomen travel to RPI Sunday, April 30 for their final match of the regular season.
