SCHENECTADY, NY – After starting doubles competition down 2-1, the Union College women's tennis team battled back in singles competition, but ultimately fell, 5-4, to RPI on Tuesday afternoon at the Union Tennis Courts.
Megan Brown and
Natalia Pezzuco won their third No. 1 Liberty League doubles match of the season, knocking off RPI, 8-2, for Union's lone doubles win of the day.
In singles action, Pezzuco and Brown both won their No. 1 and No. 2 matches, respectively. Pezzuco won in two sets, 6-0, 6-3, while Brown won her second and third sets after dropping the first set, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Allison Remmell put up a strong fight in her No. 6 singles match. After losing the first set 6-4, she came back to win the second set in a tie breaker, 7-6 (7-4), and then won the match in an extended super tie breaker, 12-10.
Union closes out the 2018 season with its final dual this Friday, April 27, as the Dutchwomen host RIT at 3 p.m. (ET).
