ITHACA, N.Y. – Sophomore Samantha Siegel recorded a team-leading four victories to pace the Union College women's tennis team at this weekend's Ithaca College Invitational, held at the Wheeler Tennis Complex on Saturday and Sunday.
 
At the event, Union played three rounds of singles competition against Hamilton College, Ithaca College and St. Lawrence University, as well as two doubles rounds against the University of Rochester and Hamilton. In singles play, the Dutchwomen fell to both Hamilton and St. Lawrence 4-2 and tied Ithaca 3-3 in singles, while dropping all three doubles matches to Hamilton after beating Rochester 2-1.
 
Siegel and classmate Cathy Xing excelled in singles competition for Union, accounting for six of Union's seven victories with matching 3-0 records. Senior Alex Greenberg also picked up a singles for Union as well versus Ithaca.
 
Siegel had a team-leading four wins on the weekend thanks to a doubles victory alongside classmate Megan Brown, while senior Paige Webster and junior Tal Pezzuco also recorded a doubles win as well.
 
Union is slated to be back on the courts next weekend at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, held at the Hobart and William Smith Tennis Center beginning on Saturday.
