DAY 1 RESULTS
 
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team began fall competition with the first day of the Union College Invitational on Saturday.
 
Union's top two singles players won their opening matches in the 'A' flight, as Tal Pezzuco defeated her Nichols' opponent Isabelle Leonardi, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6), while Megan Brown beat Holy Cross' Allie Reiling, 6-4, 6-4.
 
Pezzuco partnered with Paige Webster to win their 'A' flight doubles match, 8-3, before dropping a quarterfinal match, 8-3.
 
Alex Greenberg and Samantha Siegel won their first-round doubles match in the 'B' flight, 8-5, but then lost in the quarterfinals 8-2.
 
The Dutchwomen return to the courts tomorrow to finish out the second day of the Union College Invitational.
