ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Select participants of the Union College men's and women's track and field teams travel to Rochester, N.Y. to compete at the 2022 All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Championships this weekend. Nazareth College hosts the Regional Championships on Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5.
On the men's side senior
Andrew Fox is the lone individual competing. While the relay team of sophomores
Ben Trantanella,
Ryan Hilliard,
Charlie Alekson, and first-year
Ben Neff will run the men's Distance Medley Relay.
Fox qualified in both the 200m dash and the 400m dash this season. Fox is seeded 30th in the 200m dash with a 22.79. Fox secured this time on February 11, at the RIT Invitational. Fox beat out 49 other runners to win the 200m dash with a time of 22.79 seconds to qualify for the All-Atlantic Regional meet. This time sets a new life time best for Fox.In the 400m dash Fox is positioned in 13th place with a time of 50.17 seconds. Fox clocked this time at the 2022 Indoor Liberty League Championships, while finishing third at the meet. This was Fox's top time of the season.
The DMR team finished 10:45.31 at the Liberty League Championships finishing in third place.
On the women's side, first-year
Catherine Dacey earned two qualifications and is the only individual runner competing for the Dutchwomen. The 4 by 400 women's relay team of Dacey, sophomore
Caroline Stanton, first-year
Yurami Van Eer and
Marley Froe will race as well.
Dacey qualified in the women's 800m and mile run. Dacey is seeded in 25th with a 2:22.28 in the 800m. This time was earned at the 2022 Indoor Liberty League Championships, when Dacey finished in sixth place at 2:22.28. She also qualified in the mile run at the Liberty League Championships finishing in fifth place with her top mile time of the season, clocking at 5:14.44. She is seeded in 21st place in the race.
The 4 by 400m relay team finished in fifth place at the League Championship with a time of 4:16.78.
