Alekson & Neff PR at ROC City Qualifier

ROCHESTER, N.Y.
– Five athletes for the Union College men's track and field team traveled to the ROC City Final Qualifier on Sunday afternoon. Two Dutchmen ran new personal bests at the meet.

First-year Ben Neff had the highest finish of the afternoon for the Dutchmen. Neff raced to a 1:57.21 finish in the 800m. This time was a new best for Neff whose previous best was a 1:58.78.

Sophomore Charlie Alekson also ran a new personal best today in the 1500m. Alekson crossed the line with a 4:05.61 time and a ninth-place finish in the race. This time for Alekson was a new best by almost five seconds.

Classmate Ben Trantanella also ran the 1500m and finish in 13th with a 4:11.13. Trantanella's best this season was a 4:09.58 in the 1500m. Junior Aiden Rowley ran a 2:01.25 in the 800m and finished 13th place as well.

In Field events, sophomore Noah Greenberg threw 36.94m in the men's javelin to place 15th.

This meet calls an end for most of the athletes on the Track and field team. The final meet is the All Atlantic Outdoor Track and Field Championship, which will take place on Wednesday, May 18 and Thursday, May 19.
