Women's Tennis Hosts Union Invitational

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team hosted Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday for the annual Union Invitational, held at the Union Tennis Courts.
 
Three Union players earned singles victories on the day, which featured multiple singles and doubles matches for players on both teams.
 
Sophomore Gabby Gatto went 1-1 in singles play, posting an 8-4 victory over Masha Karach in her first match of the day. First-years Claire Langille and Chara Meidani both earned their first career singles victories as well on the day, with Langille outlasting Krisia Flores Gonzalez in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (2), and Meidani besting Karach by an 8-6 score.
 
Union will play its first dual match of the season on Wednesday, when the team begins Liberty League play against Bard College on the road at 4 p.m.
