CORTLAND, N.Y. - For the third time in his last four 200-meter races, junior
Sam Ahern set the Union College men's track and field program record with his 21.63-second time on day two of the AARTFC Regionals.

After breaking the program record in the prelims and finals at the Liberty League Outdoor Track and Field Championships just shy of two weeks ago, Ahern raced his way to a 21.63-second time Thursday to narrowly beat the 21.65-second clocking that had held the record. Ahern's time was good for fifth place and four points for Union.

Mason Lang beat his previous personal best in the javelin throw three times Thursday, with his top toss smashing his previous record by over two and a half meters with a 54.20-meter throw, good for eighth and one point.

Ben Neff, and seniors
Ben Trantanella and
Charlie Alekson picked up one final top-10 finish in the final event of the season, completing the relay in 8:06.02.

Neff added a 16th-place finish in the 1500, crossing the line in 4:00.66.Â

The Garnet Chargers will head into the offseason looking to build on their positive momentum and break more records in 2024-25.
