SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – After another strong performance on the mound, senior Alex Erickson was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, the website announced on Wednesday morning.

Erickson made two appearances in relief last week for a total of 2.1 innings with no hits and five strikeouts. The senior earned his first save of the season in last week's win against Vermont State Castleton. Erickson went on to pitch 1.1 innings on Sunday against Russell Sage College and struck out all four batters he faced.

This is the first D3baseball.com Team of the Week honor for Erickson in his career. He is the second Garnet Charger to be recognized this season after junior Cooper Ames was honored on March 6.

Union returns to action on Saturday at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Garnet Chargers open the spring break trip with Saint John's (Minn.) at 12:30 p.m. at Lake Myrtle Main Field.
