POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Union College men's cross country team took fourth place out of eight teams at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational, hosted by Vassar College on Saturday morning at Vassar Farm.

The Garnet Chargers finished the event with 123 points, edging Ramapo College of New Jersey by a single point for the fourth spot. USTFCCCA #8 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute took top honors with 39 points, followed by #9 Williams College (55) and Vassar (61).

Junior
Bretton Garrick was the first Garnet Charger to cross the finish line, completing the 6K course in 19:55.0 to finish inside the top 20 in 19th place. Sophomore
Liam Fitzgibbon finished 32nd with a time of 20:18.2, and he was followed closely by first-years
Cole Lewek (20:25.9) in 35th place and
Greg Keane (20:26.1) in 36th position.

Will Plante provided the important fifth score for Union on the afternoon, taking 48th place in a time of 20:49.0 to clinch fourth place for the Garnet Chargers.

Union will be back on the course next Saturday at Wesleyan University's Cardinal Invitational.
