Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Union College women's tennis team completed play at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships this weekend on Saturday at Skidmore College's McCaffrey-Wagman Tennis Center.
 
Both Union entries in the "B" doubles bracket continued their solid play on Saturday's second day, finishing the weekend with four wins in six matches.

Senior Sydney Alphabet and sophomore Calista Finkelstein made a deep run in the bracket, winning three times to reach the finals. After earning a walkover victory in Friday's first round, the pair took down a pair of teams from the University of Rochester, defeating Neha Dania and Rou Qian Wang by an 8-2 score in the quarterfinals and Natalie Debowski and Hailey Kornbluth, 8-5, in the semifinals. The tandem came up just short in the finals, dropping an 8-7 (7-5) tiebreaker to Sara Lippin and Liya Pomfret of Vassar College.

The first-year tandem of Jenny Park and Megan McCusker started their weekend with an 8-4 win over Rachel Molloy and Samantha Rava of SUNY Geneseo on Friday before dropping an 8-7 (7-5) tiebreaker to Mae Kellersman and Bethan Walker of William Smith College in the quarterfinals.

In "B" singles action, Alphabet defeated Geneseo's Joann Catalano in the round of 32 before suffering an 8-5 loss to Anuska Jaiswal of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institite. Park also fell in the round of 16, losing an 8-5 match to Dania.
 
The Garnet Chargers will finish up their fall schedule on Thursday with a Liberty League matchup against Skidmore College set for 6:30 p.m. in Saratoga Springs.
