SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Union College men's and women's indoor track and field teams will head to Rochester Institute of Technology for the 2026 Liberty League Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted at RIT's Gordon Field House on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28.
Leading the Union women is junior
Ashley Sheldon, who has earned back-to-back top-two finishes in the indoor high jump and looks to get back to the top of the podium for a second time after finishing second in 2024-25. Already the school record-holder in the event, she is tied with Ithaca's Madeleine Wright for the top seed after clearing 1.68 meters at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, a mark that is tied for 12th-best in Division III this year. Sheldon also enters the weekend as the sixth seed in the 60-meter hurdles thanks to a school-record run of 9.14 seconds at the Utica Blue and Orange Invitational earlier this month.
Junior
Annabel Dobash has set new program records in both the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters already this season and looks to make her way up the podium at championships. She earned All-Conference honorable mention in the 5,000 meters a year ago and enters the postseason looking to improve on her program-record 18:23.80 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. She also is seeded sixth in the 3,000 meters after clocking in at 10:16.18 at the NYU D-III Invitational.
Sophomore
Kyleigh Record picked up All-Conference honorable mention in the 800 meters as a first-year and is seeded seventh in the event this season, and the sophomore also sits eighth in the seeding for the mile as well. She ran the 800 in a season-best 2:18.99 at the NYU D-III Invitational and finished the mile in 5:19.49 for her best time of the year at the Utica Blue and Orange Invitational.
On the men's side, senior
Mason Lang earned All-Conference second-team honors in the shot put last season and will look for a repeat performance in his final indoor season. The senior is seeded fifth entering the weekend after a top mark of 14.34 meters at the season-opening Utica Holiday Classic.Â
Junior
Nate Okwaning is seeded sixth in the 60-meter dash with a top time of 7.09 seconds that he ran at the Utica Blue and Orange Invitational in early February. Also in the sprints, senior
Jason Bois earned All-Conference honors in the 60-meter hurdles two years ago and looks to get back on the podium in his final indoor campaign, coming in as the ninth seed with a top time of 8.72 seconds this season.
Union has two runners seeded in the top-eight of the 800 meters, as sophomore
Liam Fitzgibbon sits fourth and junior
Michael Fitzmaurice is eighth. Fitzgibbon ran a team-best 1:55.55 at the NYU D-III Invitational on February 14 and Fitzmaurice's best time of the year was a 1:57.88 at last weekend's Army West Point Tune-Up.
