TROY, N.Y. – Three senior members of the Union College women's tennis team were recognized for their play on the court this season by earning All-Liberty League honorable mention for the 2025-26 season, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Chara Meidani was honored for work on both the singles and doubles courts, while
Kennedy Alexis joined Meidani in receiving doubles honors and
Skylar Semon was lauded in singles play.
The four total honors are the most earned for the women's tennis team in a single season since 2021-22 and the three individual honorees are most since 2016-17.
Semon and Meidani combined to play at 18 matches at the top singles flight for Union in their senior season, and both players finished the year with nine singles wins apiece overall. Semon picked up three wins at first singles going up against the opponent's top player, and saw five matches overall go past a second set. Meidani posted a 6-7 mark at the second flight and finished the regular-season with four wins in the last six matches, with both of the losses coming in three sets.
Meidani finished her career with 46 wins playing primarily at the top-three flights, the third-most singles wins in program history. Semon ended up one spot back in fourth place with 45 victories over four years, playing all over the lineup and eventually moving from the sixth flight as a rookie to the first flight as a senior.
Meidani and Alexis spent the majority of the season at the top doubles flight for the second straight season for Union, posting a 4-3 record in Liberty League play and a 9-13 record overall on the season, including a 6-7 mark in first-doubles competition.
Helped by their three All-Conference performers, Union made the postseason for the fourth straight season in 2025-26 and the senior class graduated as the program's all-time winningest class with 39 wins over the last four years.
