Box Score SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team finished off the opening weekend of the 2026-27 season with day two of the Union Invitational, held on Sunday at the Union Tennis Courts.
After reaching the semifinals of their brackets yesterday, first-years
Loden Bradstreet and
Ava Boncordo both finished fourth in their respective brackets on Sunday. Bradstreet fell by an 8-3 score to St. Lawrence University's Elisa Iuri in the "A" third-place match, while Boncordo dropped an 8-5 third-place match to Ithaca College's Madeleine Sutro in the "B" bracket.
Sophomore
Jenny Park and first-year
Violet Tran both dropped consolation matches in the "C" bracket on Sunday, with Tran falling to New Paltz's Lula Brown-Vann, 8-2, and Park coming up on the wrong end of an 8-4 score to Brown-Vann in the fifth-place match.
First-year
Megan Woods earned her first collegiate victory in the consolation round of the "D" singles bracket, posting an 8-2 victory over Ithaca's Lillian Caccamo, before falling to Eva DeJesus of New Paltz in the next round, 8-5.
In doubles action, Bradstreet and classmate
Maddy Alecia came a tiebreaker short of reaching the "A" final, falling to RPI's Gauri Muliyil and Victoria Sarabosing by an 8-7 (7-2) score. Tran and sophomore
Caroline Fitzsimmons had their run in the "B" main bracket ended in the quarterfinals with an 8-6 loss to Olivia Kunz and Delphine Larosiliere of New Paltz.
Union will continue its fall tournament slate next weekend at William Smith College's Mary Hosking Invitational beginning on Saturday morning in Geneva.
