Zach Wahl takes two events but Ephs prevail

SCHENECTADY, NY –
Zach Wahl was victorious in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events but it was not enough as the Dutchmen were defeated by Williams College 79-219 at Alumni Gymnasium Pool Saturday afternoon.

Wahl clocked in a 52.91 in the 100-yard event while his 200-yard event produced a time of 1:57.92, giving Union two first place finishes on the afternoon.

Andrew Welch was also key component in the Dutchmen scoring as he had a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and a third place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with times of 54.79 and 2:05.77 respectively.

On the boards, Navid Nowrouzi and Jeremy Sagaille same away with second place finishes as Nowrouzi scored a 239.48 on the one-meter while Sagaille came away with a 239.17 on the three-meter dive.

Other notable finishes include Adam Herzog with a time of 4:56.93 in the 500-freestyle event, David Sorensen in the 200-yard IM with a time of 206.78 and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Benjamin Nadareski, Billy Phillips, Matt Wahl and Zach Wahl compiling a time of 1:28.68, all placing third.

Union will have a week off before they participate in the Liberty League Championships on November 30 and December 1 beginning at 4 p.m.
