UTICA, N.Y. – For the second meet in a row, first-year
Jason Bois broke the school record in the 60m hurdles as the Union College men's indoor track and field team competed at the Utica Holiday Classic on Saturday. Union scored 32 points and placed eighth out of 12 teams.
Bois set the school last week with an 8.87 second 60m hurdle. This week, after qualifying for the 60m hurdles finals with an 8.98. Bois clocked a blazing 8.82 and finished in fifth place overall while setting a new school record and personal best. Bois has broken a school record three times in two weeks to start his collegiate career.
Junior
Charlie Alekson crossed the finish line in fourth place in the men's mile. Alekson raced to a 4:24.43 which is a new personal best for Alekson, by close to nine seconds. Alekson qualified for the Liberty League Indoor Cha,pionship with his mile time. Alekson completed a tough double, following up the mile with the 800m. He raced to a third-place finish with 2:00.98, this time is a new personal best for Alekson by five seconds. Alekson qualified for Liberty Leagues in the 800m as well.
Teammates
Ben Trantanella and
Ben Neff both finished in the top 10 in the mile. Trantanella raced to a 4:27.64 and sixth place and qualified for Liberty Leagues. Neff was less then a second behind Trantanella with a 4:28.28 and finished seventh. Neff ran a new personal best by five seconds.

Aidan Savitt raced to a fifth-place finish with a 3:40.85.
