MIDDLEBURY, V.T. – The Union College men's track and field team competed in the Middlebury Invitational in a tri meet that included Plattsburgh State, Union, and Middlebury. There were four personal bests on the men's side in this non-scoring meet.
First-year
Thomas Breimer had the top finish of the afternoon for the Dutchmen. He competed in the 5000m run and won the race with a 16:05.86, beating the next closets opponent by 11 seconds. This was a new personal best for him, shattering his old time by 21 seconds.

Chris Brandreth won with a time of 3:40.30.
Senior
Andrew Fox finished in second place with a time of 51.22 in the 400m dash. Fox also competed in the 100m dash and placed fifth.
Sophomore
Eli Coleman placed second in long jump, with a distance of 6.21m. He also ran a 11.92 and finished in fourth place in the 100m dash for the Dutchmen. Classmate
Ryan Hilliard had a top two finish as well in the men's triple jump. Hilliard jumped a distance of 12.37, and finished in second. This was his farthest jump this season.
Sophomore
Noah Greenberg also had a second-place finish in the men's javelin, throwing a 47.05m. This is a new personal best for him, as he beat his old distance (46.5m) by half a meter. Greenberg also competed in the shot put where he finished fifth, with a distance of 10.05m.
First-year
Sam Ahern was one of the four athletes that recorded a personal best. He did so in the 400m dash, running a 51.52. Ahern's previous best was a 52.37. This time placed him in third place and qualified for the Outdoor Liberty League Championship as well.
Classmate
Ben Neff earned a top three finish in the 800m run, clocking a blazing 1:59.64 which is a new personal best for him as well. Brandreth placed fifth in the 400m hurdles, running a time of 1:06.80. Junior
Charlie Alekson raced to a 2:05.15 sixth place finish in the 800m run.
The Dutchmen make the quick trip to the RPI Capital District Classic on Saturday, April 30. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m.
