TROY, N.Y. - Sophomores

Mason Lang both qualified for the AARTFC Regionals with personal best throws in the javelin Friday afternoon, combining on six of Union's nine points on the opening day of the 2024 Liberty League Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Harkness Field on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Â
Entner scored a top-five finish and four points in the event by crushing his previous personal best set at the RPI Capital District Classic a week ago by over 23 feet, registering a best throw of over 180 feet and 54.93 meters for four points. Lang finished two spots behind in seventh, tallying two points, with his 51.65-meter toss, defeating his previous personal best set at Liberty Leagues a year ago.
Â
Lang later just barely set a new personal best in the hammer throw- by one inch- to finish 10th.
Junior
Sam Ahern set the first of two program records in the 200-meter prelims, racing to a 21.74-second time to break the 10-year-old 21.83-second record set by Tosin Kazeem '14 to finish second to qualify for the event finals and punch his ticket for the event in the AARTFC Regionals. First-Years
