CLINTON, N.Y. – The Union College men's cross country team had its final competition before the conference championships in two weeks on Saturday, as the Dutchmen took part in the non-scoring Hamilton College Short Course Tuneup.
Most competitors took part in the 5K race on Saturday, which was contested on a very wet and muddy course that resulted in slower times across the board. No team scores were kept in the 5K race, since some teams split their runners between the 4K and 5K courses.
Sophomore
Phil Facey led the Dutchmen on the muddy 5K course, crossing the line in 17:33.30 to place 18th out of 74 runners. He was joined in the top-20 by senior
Ethan Craig, who finished in 17:43.60 to grab 20th place.
Joining the tandem in the top-25 were junior
Colin Czerpak, who finished 21st in 17:46.70, and senior
Colin Keally, who took 24th with a time of 17:50.60. Freshman
