Another 60 Record Leads Men's Track to Sixth at Liberty Leagues

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Union College men's indoor track & field team earned 16 points on day two to finish in sixth place at the 2025 Liberty League Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at Ithaca College's Glazer Arena on Friday and Saturday.

Helped by three career-best performances and one program record on Saturday, Union finished the weekend with 28 points to sit 16.5 points back of Ithaca in fifth place and 14 points clear of Vassar College in seventh.

After resetting the program standard in the prelims of the 60-meter dash yesterday, senior Sam Ahern did it again in Saturday's final, speeding to a time of 6.91 seconds that earned him an All-Conference second team finish, just four-hundredths of a second away from first place.

Junior Jason Bois reached the podium in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 8.65 seconds to finish in fifth place. He also set a new career standard in the high jump, placing 15th with a top clearance of 1.75 meters.

Closing out the sprints, first-year Aidan Bradley took 22nd in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.37 seconds, and he was followed soon after by sophomore Nate Okwaning in 23.49 seconds.

In the 800 meters, first-year Liam Fitzgibbon placed 16th with a time of 1:58.60, and he was joined by sophomore Bretton Garrick, who crossed the line in 2:03.09 to finish in 22nd place.

Junior Nick Entner led four Union entries in the weight throw, posting the best mark of his career with a distance of 13.76 meters to place 10th. Junior Mason Lang came in one spot back in 11th with a top toss of 13.30 meters. Sophomore Aramis Suarez and first-year Dylan Boyle also participated in the event, finishing at 11.33 meters and 11.29 meters, respectively.

Union closed on the weekend by taking fifth in the 4x400-meter relay, as the quartet of Bradley, junior Aidan Savitt, sophomore Jackson Klehr and first-year Ziayan Omer combined for a time of 3:30.61.

Qualifying student-athletes will continue their indoor season next weekend at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday and the Tufts Qualifying Meet on Saturday.
