SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Union College men's cross-country team raced to a fourth-place finish at the Saratoga Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Dutchmen finished ahead of Westfield State, Saint Rose, and Sage. That placed them fourth out of seven teams with a final point total of 124.
First years
Ryan Russell and
Ben Neff led the charge for Union. Russell refinished in 27:26.8 to place 35th overall and a 27:34.1 finish placed Neff 38th. Sophomore
Mark D'Alessandro was the third Dutchman to cross the finish line, ending with a time of 27:58.3 and a 45th-place finish.
Sophomores
Ben Trantanella and
Charlie Alekson raced to near identical times. Trantanella clocked in at 28:07.1 and Alekson at 28:07.3, these times placing them 51st and 52nd, respectively.
Junior
Aiden Rowley raced to a 54th-place finish with a time of 28:18.9 and first-year
Thomas Breimer took 64th with a time of 29:18.2.
The Dutchmen will be back in action next Saturday, October 2nd when they make the trip to the Keene State Invitational for an 11 a.m. start.
