HARTFORD, Conn. - The Union College men's track and field team set a handful of personal bests at the Trinity (Conn.) Invitational in their penultimate meet of the regular season on Saturday, winding down the regular season strong.

Sophomore
Mason Lang started the day for Union in a big way, scoring a top-five finish in the hammer throw with his 40.45-meter toss, setting a new personal best in the first event of the day. First-Year
Aramis Suarez and sophomore
Nick Entner also set personal bests with 34.37 meter and 34.06 meter throws, respectively, rounding out the top 15, while Suarez also set a personal best in the shot put later in the day.

In the first track event of the day, the 110-meter hurdles, sophomore
Jason Bois raced to a season-best 15.40 time in the prelims before crossing the line in 15.59 in the final, finishing second in the event.

The 100-meter dash followed and produced equally strong results for Union. Junior
Sam Ahern set a new personal best and came within two-tenths of the Union record with his second-place finish in 10.87 seconds. First-Year
Nate Okwaning also crushed his personal record with an 11.04 timing in the prelim before posting an 11.09 clocking in the final, finishing eighth for the Garnet Chargers.

Ben Neff continued Union's string of second-place finishes in the 1500, crossing the line in 3:58.26. Classmate
Ryan Russell came just shy of a personal best of his own with his 13th-place finish in 4:09.06, while first-year
Will Bonnette set a new personal benchmark of 4:11.56, coming in 16th. Senior

Ben Pistiner also posted personal bests in the event.

Union kicked off the day's relays with another top-five finish, coming in fourth in the 4x100. Okwaning, Ahern, first-year
Aaron Binion, and senior
Ryan Hilliard combined to post the unit's season-best 42.59 time.

Jackson Klehr picked up an identical finish, with their 3:34.62 time good for fourth.

Union also put together a pair of teams for the mixed 4x400, with those squads finishing in first and third, respectively. Junior

Ben Trantanella teamed up with seniors Caroline Stanton and Kasey McGerald to take home the win in 3:52.71, while Hilliard and D'Alessandro grouped with seniors Allison Malatesta and Alayna Gibson for third in 3:58.33.

Hilliard, Binion, and Okwaning went on to post personal bests in the 200, two spots apart from each other. Hilliard finished in 12th in 22.88 seconds, Binion in 14th in 23.03, and Okwanining in 16th in 23.07.

In the 800, senior
Charlie Alekson set a new personal best en route to a seventh-place finish and two points with his 1:57.81 time. Neff finished out the top 15, while DeBaise and first-year
Bretton Garrick also timed personal bests, finishing 23rd and 24th.

Lang and Entner later tag-teamed top-10 finishes in the javelin throw with Entner setting another personal-best. Lang's best throw of 44.20 meters was good enough for seventh, while Entner's 44.07 meter toss was nearly two meters further than his previous best set at the Liberty League Championships a year ago, good enough for eighth.Â

Klehr continued to work down his 400 time, setting a new benchmark in the event for the fourth straight time with his 52.22-second clocking, while junior
Chris Brandreth set a new best in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.99. On the field side, sophomore
Adam Hecker scored a new personal best in the discus with his 30.18-meter throw.

Union finishes out the regular season this upcoming Friday, when they head back across town to the RPI Capital District Classic beginning at 1:00 p.m.
