Athletics Hall of Fame
It is only fitting that this team joins its beloved head coach in the same induction class into the Union Hall of Fame. Charlie Morrison led this squad to a 19-11-1 and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Game against Babson College. The Dutchmen reached the title game after battling RIT in a grueling four-overtime contest that was decided on a Gil Egan shot from the blue line which some have dubbed "the shot heard around the world" the evening before. The team featured Egan, the current all-time leading goal scorer and co-captain, co-captain Jamie Knight, 10th on the all-time scoring list Joe Caruso, 11th on the all-time scoring list Curt Cole, future All-American in '86 Wayne McDougall, 14th on the all-time scoring list Tom Hodgins, Scott Richardson, John McKenzie, T.J. Ryan, and future Dallas Stars team member Duane Joyce.
