Winston Britton starred for the football team in the fall then the track & field teams in the indoor and outdoor seasons. On the gridiron he played split end and posted 968 yards with 10 touchdown receptions in 22 games. The Dutchmen were 19-4 in his two seasons. The 1983 squad reached the Stagg Bowl and finished 10-2, and the 1984 team was 9-2 with another NCAA playoff run. On the track, Britton still holds the 400 meter record (0:50.2, set in 1984) at the time of his induction. He qualified for the NCAA's twice and also held records in the 100, 4x100 and joined his teammates in setting the 4x800 mark.
