Dot played three years of softball and two years each of basketball and field hockey. She was a captain for the field hockey and softball teams. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the Dutchwomen softball team in her senior season of 1980. Dot was the inaugural recipient of the Robert M. Ridings Award in 1980, presented to Union’s outstanding senior female student-athlete. She also received the President’s Award in 1980. Dot was a Vice President and then President of the Block U Society, and also was a student trainer for three years. She was a leader in her sorority, Delta Gamma and later became an orthopedic surgeon.
